Energy Saving Boilers
There are three main types of boiler; Heat Only, System and Combination boilers. Since the Kyoto agreement it is mandatory in England and Wales to fit Energy Saving Condensing Boilers. Old boilers are traditionally Energy Rated at E or F grade. Modern boilers can only be rated A or B.
Unvented Hot Water Cylinders
Unvented hot water or 'Megaflo' hot water cylinders offer many advantages over the traditional storage tank system; offering faster bath filling, high pressure showers and no noisy tank in the loft to fill. In addition, the pressures are balanced so there are no nasty shocks when another person uses the hot or cold water elsewhere in the house. Also they are very efficient with a far quicker heating time than conventional hot water cylinders.
New Systems
All central heating systems are installed to all building and gas regulations. Our central heating systems are fully guaranteed and fitted by GasSafe registered installers. You will be issued a fully complete benchmark card on completion; this certifies that the system is installed to Part L of the building regulations.
System Upgrades
Many old central heating systems may lack the requirements of modern energy efficiency and building regulations. You may find that your existing system is wasting energy. However, with a system upgrade we can provide a new system with the proper controls and valves which can conserve the energy that your system uses, and reduce your energy bills.
Underfloor Heating
Underfloor Heating is the latest modern idea to heat your home or workplace. Warm Water Underfloor Heating is a cost effective way to heat any room because they heat the lower part of the room first – instead of the ceiling.
Although it can be more expensive to install than radiators (it can be comparable due to the increasingly competitive market), wet underfloor heating often proves more economical in the long run, particularly in well-insulated larger properties. Energy savings of up to 40% can be achieved compared to conventional heating systems if a condensing boiler is installed, but even with a standard boiler up to 15% energy savings are normal. The efficiency of condensing boilers is enhanced thanks to water returning at a lower temperature.
By employing full lengths of piping without any joints, wet underfloor heating loops are practically maintenance free. The piping used can have a lifespan of up to 100 years. Reliable materials are critical because repair is difficult. The central heating equipment, pumps, and controls, like others, requires periodic maintenance and replacement. |

Power Flushing
Power flushing services are required by many households. Over time, your central heating system can be blocked or suffer from reduced flow, this is caused by a sludge which builds up. To keep your central heating system flowing, working efficiently, prevent burst pipes in your home and to reduce energy bills, a power flush is the answer to your problems. The main symptoms of sludge and scale are a noisy boiler and cold spots on your radiators from a build-up of this scale.
Gas Safety Inspections
If you are selling your home and require a certificate or are uncertain on the condition and safe operation of your gas appliances, we can inspect and report on the working order of your gas installation.
Servicing
Just as your car needs regular servicing to keep it running effectively, it is very important to have your boiler serviced every year to gain the maximum amount of life from your boiler and ensure it's running safely and efficiently.
Radiator, Cylinder and Megaflo Installations
Along with radiator and cylinder installations we can also fit unvented hot water systems and more. Remember, if it's to do with your heating and hot water system, Eden Heating can help.
LPG Boiler Installations
The running costs of LPG boilers – which can be up to 90% energy efficient – are not dissimilar to those of oil boilers and, like oil boilers, LPG boilers require a storage tank and a fuel feed. LPG boilers can be supplied by a central or individual bulk storage tank – typically with a capacity of between 1,000 and 2,000 litres and refilled periodically by tanker – or from smaller cylinders or bottles which can be taken away and replaced when empty.
Solar Panels
Solar water heating, also known as solar thermal, uses the sun's energy to produce domestic hot water for showers, baths and hot taps. Solar water heating panels should not be confused with photovoltaic (solar electric) panels which produce electricity from sunlight. Producing hot water for use in showers, baths and hot taps accounts for a significant proportion of the overall domestic energy consumption. Under UK conditions, a household can easily produce around half the hot water it needs over the course of a year from solar energy. |
